New IAEA Collaborative Research Project

The IAEA is launching a new six-year Collaborative Research Project (CRP D61026) titled “”Phytosanitary Treatment of Food Commodities and Promotion of Trade”.

One of the main expected outcome is the development of more generic irradiation doses for quarantine treatments that would lead to the submission to the IPPC of new generic phytosanitary irradiation treatments.

Research contracts and agreements have been granted to Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, Indonesia, Israel, Myanmar,Pakistan, Vietnam, and USA.

The first meeting will be held virtually on 22-23 March and 28-29 March 2022. The Technical Officers are Carl Blackburn and Vanessa Simoes Diaz de Castro.
